Thumbs up

2018 Coachman Freelander 26RS on a GM chassis. At 2000 miles went with Bilsteins and Sumo springs, also sprung for an alignment ... What a difference! Wife enjoys driving it now as do I.

I've been reading this post with interest. When my coach hits a bridge abutment, I get a BANG real hard unless they made the transition real good. Most of the time they don't. I have 33,000 miles on her now. I think this coach comes with Bilsteins, 2008 F53 chassis. If I replace with new HD Bilsteins, will it cushion that bang?? Or, what do you recommend??
Thank you very much.

Ford uses their specific shock settings and they are built by Bilsteins. Bilsteins HD shock is totally better then factory. Monroe RV shocks are better then factory, but the Bilsteins have it all over them. This is my experience with the three in 6 years and 86000 miles around this fine country and its roads.

Another Bilstein user here. I had a 2007 Class C that I put them on, big improvement on ride and handling. I replaced the ones on my Dually with Bilsteins also, for the money can't beat them.

Hmm... I know I would benefit from new shocks. I wonder how to find what model chassis my motorhome is built on? It is a 1998 Safari 2620 28’ Class C running a Chevy 454. I believe it is a 3500 but I need more specifics. Probably, the owners manual and the current shock numbers hunh?

A good parts counter person should be able to find the shocks you need. I have been in several NAPA stores in different states and got parts for my towd!
