SlideOut

Hi
Slideout not extended all the way out
I have a 2006 Fleetwood Jamboree 23e
Is there a limit switch on slideout motor that may need to be adjusted????
Or at the slideout control panel inside motorhome under seat would or can this control panel be adjusted????
Slideout moves in & out OK but it just does not extend fully
No problem in past
Applied slideout lubricate & made sure motorhome is level
Any suggestions would be appreciated
Thanks

Slideout not fully extending

Crawled under motorhome to check any obvious reason why slideout not fully extending
Discovered 2 2inch diameter wheels at each track & these 2 wheels have a rod thru them with a nut on each end of rod
They appear to run on each supporting track under slideout
One wheel on one of the pairs does turn part way but then becomes jammed on other wheel, other wheel of this pair does not spin at all
checked other pair of wheels & then don't spin at all
Appears thru bolt is slightly bent preventing wheels from spinning
This appears to be my problem as I may have bent the thru bolt when trying to move slideout when MH not level
Looks like an easy fix except wheels are positively a specialty item & I don't have a clue as to where to buy them
Any suggestions or help appreciated
Anyone have the same problem before????
Where does one go to get Fleetwood MH parts????
Checked various Web sites but no luck
Thanks

Slideout

One of those days
Pushed button to extend slideout & it only went out about 12 inches & stopped
I retracted slideout & tried again to extend
This time all it did was chatter real loud & the entire slideout vibrated
Has anyone experienced this vibration with your slideout & if so what did you do to fix it
Apparently motor is working or I would not get this vibration
Applied lubricate & spent hours removing small guide wheels & cleaning them as I thought this have been my problem
No such luck
Entire problem started when I tried to move slideout when MH was not level
Before that everything worked great
Feel like a real JERK for trying to extend slideout when MH was not level
While under MH every thing looked OK Gears & track look fine
Obviously I created the problem by trying to extend slideout when MH was not level but do not know where to start to fix problem
May just need an adjustment
Any suggestions would be welcome
Thanks
PS: All seals look to me to be fine

You could try google for slide out adjustments. I did the same thing you did but once I leveled out, all was well. I do know sometimes the gears get miss aligned so you have to disengage one of the drive gears to sync it with the other.

Without knowing the make of coach or the type of slide it is hard to help someone out.
It sounds like it is a slide made by Lippert If it is, this may help

Contact REV Group. You should be able to get parts for fleetwood through them.

Who is the mfg. of the slide mechanism? I would call them for parts.

Lippert uses two gears with racks to keep both sides of the slide moving at the same pace...with a cross shaft.... if either gear/rack jumps the slide will bind and not move... Instead of putting all new expensive parts in that would just fail again I sat down with a friendly engineer of mine and we came up with a clamp that keeps the gears and rack in place after the plastic bumpers wear out.. we also replaced the gear, available alone from Lippert, and found a bearing shop who could order replacement racks that were 3/4" wide instead of the stock 1/2" wide... my gears were 3/4, so once the rack was replaced with the wider rack I had 50% more surface area, and with the clamp we designed we had 100% engagement instead of 30 to 40%...

Without the ability to grind/cut/weld and the engineer we would have spent 3,000 for the repair at a shop, as it was I spent only about $300 for the complete rework and know its at least 150% better than the OE stuff....

I'm currently on the road or I'd post some pictures... if I get time I'll crawl under the slide and take some of the clamp we designed with Bevel washers to hold the parts together.....

I bet I sat for 3-4 hours under the thing to come up with my answers so I didn't have to take the slide out of the RV... that's the way the dealer would have fixed it...

What he said.

Looks like Larry's advice above is going to be the best approach......after reading these posts on another forum:

At any rate, best of luck on the fix. And safe travels. ed s

Slideout

Hi
Pulling what little hair out that I have left
Slideout only extends half way then stops
Checked for any obstructions, checked all clearances ,everything looks fine
Gear track as it should be,everything in alignment
I,m able to extend & retract slideout manually all the way out & all the way in
Batteries fully charged,MH level but will not extend with power
Emergency brake on vehicle is set
When I try to extend slideout it stops about halfway out & I can hear motor still running & drive gear is trying to extend slideout but no luck
When I retract slideout & it is fully retracted motor continues to run & I can hear drivegear still trying to move slideout further in??????
Obviously this should not happen as motor should sense slideout is fully retracted & turn off
I'm wondering if maybe I need reset motor & drivegear ????
I have a 2006 Fleetwood Jamboree 23 e with an electric Powergear drive system
Really don't trust any shop to work on it as most know less then Me
Feel my best bet is this Forum & someone who may have had the same problem
Went to Powergear web site & even spoke with rep but was not helpful
Hope I have better luck here
There is a motor control module which I replaced previously & for a while everything worked fine
Perhaps this module is out of sync with motor & needs to be reset?????
Any help will be appreciated
Seems like I spend more time under MH then inside

Been there done that , wore out several of the T shirts.

When you purchased and installed the slide drive control , was there any mention in the paper work of " load limit adjustments "?

Slideout

Hi
At a total loss
I have a class C 2006 Fleetwood Jamboree 23 e
I recently moved my slideout when MH was not level
Now unable to extend slideout no more then half way out,it just stops ,vibrates & refuses to go out any further
I checked all clearances & they are fine
I am able to manually move slideout all the way out & all the way in
This tells me motor gear & track gear are as they should be
I assume since I am able to manually extend & retract slideout there must be no restrictions
I checked height & its fines
Slideout only extends halfway & stops,I am able to retract slideout
It is a Powergear 2 rail system & is extremely well made, heavy duty
Called Powergear which is now Lippert & spoke with tech,no help
Checked Powergear manuals & drawings,no help
Obviusly I'm missing something, like maybe a reset HA Ha Works with a computer why not a slideout
If someone had the same problem as I have & they were able to correct themselves please tell me what you did Its worth a case of beer
RV shops are no help whatsoever,They know less then any of us when it comes to slideouts
Has to be something simple that I'm just not seeing
There is a small motor control circuit but there are no adjustments on it that I can see
Gear tracks are all in the same position
Help
Thanks
Ted
