Sliding driver seat rails back for more legroom

Has anyone tried Sliding FORD F-450 driver seat rails back for more legroom? Ford legroom is tighter than Chevy. I want to buy a Ford F-450 Class 'c' but I need a little more room. Any suggestions?

You can, but it screws with the airbag geometry, the seatbelts, and puts a lot more stress on the seat frame.

Unhappy Beware of the slide...

When shopping for any Class C {and needing more legroom} be wary of any coach with a street side slide as this will dramatically inhibit your ability to slide any seat back. If you are over 6' tall or the first number when you get on the scale is larger than one a Ford chassis might be tight.

Allegedly the Chevy Chassis' have a little bit more legroom but beware of their drivers seat as it is pretty basic and most lack the ability to make much if any adjustments. The power drivers seat on the Ford is amazing with almost unlimited adjust ability and probably will give you a much more comfortable ride {absent a street side slide}.

I needed more leg room for my 6'3" 230lb .

Looked at moving the rails back , as you mentioned . Decided that was too much of a challenge with the dinette seat being in the way .

What I did was raise both the drivers and passengers seats 1-1/2" . Doesn't sound like much , but it made a big difference.

An added bonus was with the swivel base I installed on the passenger seat . The seat is now more comfortable to sit in when turned around into the coach seating area.

I didn't see an issue with safety , air bags , since the steering wheel can be adjusted up and down which doesn't affect the air bag function.
