Another benefit is the extra storage for bulk items like our zero gravity chairs for stargazing, and our golf clubs.
We missed out on so much "adventure" leaving our Liberty home on one trip. We won't do that again.
I don't know how you people with long motorhomes made it work without a tow vehicle, it doesn't work with our short motorhome.

Ron,
We've got a 30.5' Class C and for "touring" purposes, I've got it setup that way with all the bells and whistles, a toad is essential.
Done with renting cars at $125/day (2019 Rapid City SD) or breaking camp to run out for something unexpected or sightseeing

Thanks for all of the ideas. We are thinking we might flat tow a Jeep so we can go adventuring with it. So, I think that means we stick with something on a E-450 Chassis.
Doesn't the E-450 turn tighter than the E-350?
We do have a golden retriever puppy that we plan on taking with us. Not a problem with State Parks, at least in Washington/Oregon, but I heard that National Parks might be a problem. Any insight on this?

Diesel vs. gas in a class C
Just a couple of comments. We have a 24' Bigfoot (Canadian mfg) with a diesel under the "doghouse" between our two seats. Having had experience with gasser RV's, I would never give up the diesel. On I25 at 65 MPH over the rolling hills here in southern New Mexico, we only hear a downshift every 20 - 30 miles, and then it is only one gear. On the gas rigs I have owned, the trans would have downshifted two or three times and the motor would be be screaming at 5K RPM+. I know that the rig is just trying to stay in the optimal torque range, but it sure is noisy! If you are going with a class C, you have to think about engine noise. Sure, ours puts out more decibels at startup and while idling, but once you are underway, it is MUCH quieter.
My other input is try to stay away from options you don't need. All the sex and sizzle are just more things to breakdown. When I was shopping for our MH, I would not look at anything with slides. Since it is just the two of us, we don't need the extra room and slides would only add complexity and weight.
Best of luck in your search.

This post is informative. We just sold our 2019 43’ Newmar DP and are looking for 30’ or less that can tow Jeep. Quality issues seem to be the biggest challenge in our search for a C or B+. Coach House looks like a high quality rig. It seems like this could be a roll of the dice- which does not sound like fun.

You'll need to drive your model to know if your comfortable with turning radius. When things are tight, E450 or E350 not going to eliminate the need to make a "Y" turn. Now, wheel cuts on some Class A F53 chassis make a noticeably better turning radius than an E450
We weren't stopped by Rangers driving into Glacier NP with 2 chihuahuas but pets usually aren't allowed on trails.

We have a 2020 Tiffin Wayfarer RW. 25ft long, rear bathroom the width of coach on a Mercedes Sprinter diesel chassis. Love it! Ours has a murphy bed but they have other floorplans.

Tiburon
I talked with a Tiburon owner in Smoky Mountain National and he said he normally got 17. My Tiffin Wayfarer has the same powertrain and because it is slightly heavier and taller front cap I get about 15 mpg

Wayfarer
We also have a 2020 Tiffin Wayfarer RW and we absolutely love it. Tiffin is fantastic…I can call them at any time and get fantastic tech support out of their service center in Winfield AL

Given identical wheel bases, the E350 and E450 have the same turning radius. But since E350's are shorter with shorter wheel bases, and E450's are longer, the E450 needs more room to turn.

Small Class C/B+
I have a Jayco Redhawk 24 B and love it. Easy to maneuver; I opted for dinette but it also comes with theatre seating. Nice size bath and the queen bed is in the back. There is space above the cab that can be a bed or storage.

We downsized from an Entegra Anthem 44A and purchased a 2022 Coach House 271. We are extremely pleased with the quality. We tow a 2017 F-150 with no issues and get about 9mpg towing and 12+ not towing. In 2021 Ford came out with the V8 Godzilla/ 6 speed trans. Much quieter than the previous V10/5 speed. Good luck with your search.

Thanks, For F-450 the Wheel width is wider and they do turn tighter than my F-350... Didn't know if that also applies to to E-450.

Don’t miss looking at the Winnebago EKKO Class C. Built on a AWD Ford Transit chassis with an EcoBoost turbo 3.5L V6 gas drivetrain. Has twin beds, dry bath, no slides and is just 23’ long to fit a standard parking space.
