Solar

Jayco 1018 29w greyhawk. Trying to install solar. Panels installed and hooked to solar prep on top of RV. No power at the end point in compartment beside battery. Must be a point in the wire for solar charger but can't find it. Any help appreciated.

The term "solar prep" is this from the factory or something you installed? And how much solar in wattage is the solar prep designed for? And how many watts of solar are you installing?

Solar 2018 29w greyhawk Jayco

Solar prep done by Jayco manufacturer. 8g wire from rooftop to compartment beside battery. Wire must go to a place to have a solar charger. I have taken off every panel that could reasonably have the wire close by and can't find it. I have 4 100w renogy panels installed and just need to find the wire in the MH.

Thanks, 4 100w renogy panels, 8g wire, solar prep factory installed. Wire from rooftop and ends in battery compartment. Panels hooked up to solar prep wires but not energized at battery end. Must be interrupted at some point to allow installation of the solar charger. I can't find where that point is. Hoping someone else has installed solar on same unit and knows where the access is.

From what I remember forest river "solar prep " is a socket on passenger side wired to battery set up for a portable panel . If you're installing rooftop like the rest of us did, you will want to run wires thru the refrigerator vent and down shortest path to batteries.

Solar 2018 29w greyhawk Jayco

Thanks all, great help from Jayco support. The solar prep on Jayco 29w greyhawk is a continuous 8g wire from rooftop to compartment adjacent to the battery compartment. It's intended that the solar charger be placed there.
Regards, Bryan Duck
