Sprinter coachmen Prism how to access Generator Starter

I have a 2016 Mercedes Prism RV, starter just clicks. I checked voltage at solenoid at it was up and down between 1 and 3 volts at starter side. I disconnected starter cable at voltage was a solid 12v.

Does this indicate a faulty starter motor and if so how on earth do I get to the starter to change it. DO I have to disconnect everything (LPG, muffler, cables) and unbolt the generator top remove? Seems a huge pain, but just double checking first. Does not seem to slide out or anything

thanks in advance

I assume this is the ONAN 3600LP ?

You will need to remove the generator (almost for certain and it will make all the work easier) and then remove the shroud that covers it.
