Storage compartment doors reconfiguration

In order to use the storage compartment doors under my slide I have used wood and pvc lengths with all sorts of attachments but most of the time just one little bump and ouch!!my head or arm get whacked. The other day another class c was parked next to me and low and behold. His doors under the slide dropped down with a length of cable to keep it level. Why not me!!! Has anyone else ever done this just removing door frame and turning it 180 and putting it back in and recaulking it.Everything is contained in the door frame itself..the lock and the door latch. If you have done it a different way and its working could let me know and send photos if possible.. I , my head, and battered arm thank you for any help

No option is perfect. I have both options in mine from factory. The problem that open up is that some can hit you specially if they would cover the furnace or water heater exhaust. The one that hangs you need to be careful because when you hang it down open it can tear the material where is attached. This last situation is one of the few thing my DW and I have problems because sometimes she is not careful. If you tear the material where is attached, you will have a big problems. So, you decide.
