Hello,

New here and looking for some info. Went to price tires today and the guy recommended Nexen Roadian H/T "E" for it. It is a Class C coachman with 225/75/16 stock. Is he quoting me for passenger truck tires? The ratings according to the door sticker are 4600 front and 9450 rear.

I think the E is the load rating which equal to the old 10 ply rating
A set of 4 "E" rated tires on a dual rear wheel axle in 235/85-16 that take 80PSI are good for 11,000 lbs.
THe 225/75-16s should be close to that. Just to look at the side wall to be sure.

Never heard of that tire mfg but Class C's typically take suv/small truck tires so that's not something to be concerned with. Tire rating is simply a matter of how much weight it will take -- Class C's usually come with either D or E rated tires depending on how much they weigh - the E rating for you rig s/b fine. Some would argue that rigs are safer running with steel sidewalls - if you go that route it will cost you more money and your selection will be limited.

I have C MH and use standard E rated truck tires. More competitive pricing..I believe I have good years now. Just check dates on tires as time will run out before they look worn

Thanks for the replies. Nexen are tires we put on my wife's versa. I joking asked the guy at Big 10 Tires (AKA Pep boys) if they controlled stock in Nexen. When I was looking for tires for my truck, he offered me nexen. You answered my question with the SUV/small truck tires. In fact the stock tires happen to be old Firestone steeltex rs4's which were used on SUV's. Seem to be some hint to being the tires during the recall in the early 2000's. I sent an email to Firestone to see if those were part of the recall.
