Toad electrical wiring

I am new to RVing and have bought a 1998 Coachmen Leprechaun and a 1999 Jeep Wrangler TJ. (Both in great shape) Know what I need for the mounting of the tow bar but I'm looking for the best wiring harness to make the rigs work as one. I will be using the RVi 3 breaking system and also the RVi Towed battery charger. The coach has no electrical towed vehicle hookup nor does the Jeep. I believe I need a 6 port connector but hope one (or more) of you can point me to the best connector I can get and the best one for safety. Thanks for helping a 68 year old rookie!

A quick call to E-Trailer and they'll guide you to the right harness for the jeep. They helped me with a 03 TJ. And I ended up going from my 7 pin on the back of the MH to a 4 Pin on the front of the jeep.
They will suggest a diode system that is pretty much plug and play that plugs into the connectors at the rear tail lights. No more than 2 hours to install.

Good luck,

cb

Thank you. I think I have it figured out. Been doing "car" stuff for years and I was just overthinking it. This wire runs that item, don't mix them up and you'll be fine. I'm gonna go 7 to 6 and have a Toad charger to mitigate collateral drainage. I'll post with my final setup.

I just did wiring in my tj. I went with new/added light bulbs in the back lights and wired it just like a trailer.

I did this on one of my jeeps and could not get the bulb in the right place, in front of the reflector. It lights up but not real bright from the back.

I did the e-trailer, https://www.etrailer.com/Tow_Bar_Wir...s/HM56202.html set up. It had the diodes in it and it was as simple as un-plug the connectors at the each light in the back on plug the in the new set up in series. Then run the 4 wire cable to the front of the jeep. It came with the mount for the 4 wire connector and worked out great. And it was somewhere around $45.00. I did run the wires through a wire loom tubing for protection.

Reese or one of those guys makes a plug and play harness no need to use the diodes and a lot simpler, I removed the diodes to put this in. To many connections on the diodes
