Water damage questions

I bought my first RV. I kept smelling mold and finally found some water damage in the overhead left corner. I cut the rotten wood out all except the corner support which looks like a piece of 2 x 4. Its very discolored as the pic shows but doesn't seem rotted and I wouldn't know how to remove it. Is there something I can put on it to clean/seal it etc. Also need something to clean the metal surrounding the white styrofoam insultation?
The area I opened up did not have any insulation, just brown paper which I'm removing because it smells like mold. Is there something I can replace it with?
What should I use to clean the whole area? Sorry for so many questions.

Welcome to iRV2.

It appears your having trouble attaching your photos . Trust me your not the first member with the issue.
Resize first ( 640 pixels works best for me )
and make sure the " manage attachments " box says " download complete " before closing it.

EDIT: Just in case you haven read through this thread on posting here's a link.

Until you can get the posting of pictures straightened out ( took me about three weeks ) you may want to do a search .
Google search box ; beside your welcome message leave it set to iRV2.com
Type in " Class C overhead bunk repair " and search will provide a list of other posts on the subject.
