I just did the saddle sore just to say I did it. And it was a reason to see my daughter when she was stationed in south Carolina. Don't plan on doing any more.

I'm planning a trip to Moab at the end of the month. (1600-1700 miles one way). Not retired, so I have a finite amount of time to get there.
There will be a couple of 500+ mile travel days going and coming.

Target is 300-350 per day. Had to get home from VA Beach this week, drove 490, another 490 and 400. Wears an old man out. Seems like we want stretch our time away, and delay heading home. Seems like we always have a dr. Appointment or some deadline we " have to get home for".

In 1973 I drove 960 miles from Brunswick, GA to just South of Chicago in 18.5 hours in a 65 Chevelle, no freeway, hwy 65 was 2 lanes, and fools passing in all the worst places. Me and Momma and a 3 and 4 year old. Changed the water pump in 1/2 hour in a restaurant parking lot next to an auto store in Nashville while she fed the kids in the restaurant.
Stopped at a bad motel for 5 hours and made it to Minneapolis the next day.
It was an amazing lesson in "geez, I had a whole month of leave".
Was sick for days!
Now, a REALLY long day is 400.
The Journey has been our Destination ever since.

700 miles from our home in PA to an overnight in Walterboro, SC. On our way to Disney last fall. Our Jayco may not have the best handling manners, but at least the front seats are comfy...

Twice to Alaska. Once to Newfoundland.

The Newfi trip was 10 months and averaged $3.43 per nite for parking/camping including Key West, Washington DC. No charges in Canada.

In 24 hours as the OP asked,

1209 miles recently from Grand Junction Colorado to Washington State, driving a small SUV pulling a 22' pop up A-frame camper.

A few weeks earlier I made the same 24 hour trip with a U-Haul loaded with nearly everything we own.

I don't drink caffeine but setting out on a road trip has always gotten me "wired". If I get tired, I'll stop for a few hours of sleep, but that rarely happens on day one of a trip.

I find 450-500 is my limit. I can do that two days in a row, but I want the third to be a rest day. I did 600 in a day one time but I don't like doing that. Would do it again only if it was not preceded or followed by a driving day.

St Louis to Daytona Beach in about 16 hours.

Well we have just driven from Va to Las Vegas back to quartzite

But the first day we left the house about 5pm so we drove to 95 south Cracker Barrel in North Carolina
When I woke up at 3 am I thought hell I should pull out and drive
So after a good day we ended in Monroe La about 8pm
Looked at trip meter and wow 890 miles
Hard to match that again

My longest single day was about 600 miles give or take a bit (I did not log) was running from a bilzzard, Checked the weather forecast where i was and they said low of 19.. Was getting a tad.. chilly, so checked the outside thermometer -6, yes, -6 It was about 5 AM as I recall So I fired the main engine (For added heat) and headed west and south... Normally I do 200-400 miles a day Longest day ever in the saddle for me (Saddle = Driver's seat) co pilot is good for the odd 3 feet at a gas pump, not much more.
