What is this running through driver's stepwell?

This is preventing my stepwell plastic cover from sitting flush. It's very stiff- cable or tube. (not the plastic box/wires- thats the remote keyless lock). Any ideas?

I didn't have time to crawl under and follow it, but could it be the electrical cable that ties the coach and chasis batteries together in an emergency?

That was my first thought as well but I've never seen one routed under/through a stepwell. This especially since it looks like this is on the passenger side. This may have been installed by the RV's manufacturer or a previous owner. I think the OP is going to have to crawl underneath and see where it goes.

Drivers side and bought new. Don't get me started on Thor's assembly line handiwork! This is on an E450 Ford cutaway. I guess I'll take my crawler up to storage and check it out- time for an undercarriage inspection anyway.

My bad,, With the curve up in your image, looked like passenger side to me.

Even so, it seems strange that Ford would run an emergency cable in that manner. I would of thought it ran under the main chassis..

Mystery solved. It made sense that it would be the e brake cable, but it didn’t make sense that if Ford installed it, it would be so tight as to interfere with the step well cover (which it does). Well, never underestimate Thor’s ability to screw something up! It is indeed the Ford OEM e brake cable. But in the undercarriage, Thor zip tied the auto leveler hydraulic lines to the brake line, and they must have pulled the brake line through the hole during installation. Oh Thor. Thor, Thor, Thor......
