Why Class C do not have 50 amp?

Looking to buy a new Coachmen RV 298KB. Researched most of the brands and like the Coachmen, especially the king bed and dual A/C. Ws wondering why Class Cs are not offered with 50 amps?

Not big enough to carry a lot of electrical items that need that much power to run. Most don't have three heat pumps, nor a washer or dryer, nor a dishwasher, nor an AquaHot with 2-2000 watt electric elements.

Weight as well... Most C’s are up against their weight limit. Every pound counts and the 50amp equipment adds weight. Not sure what the total difference would be but enough that I am sure it figures into the equation.

Most Class Cs, unlike the one you are looking at, don't have 2 ACs. There really isn't a need for more than a 30 amp service.

I'd venture that it's also about keeping the cost low as well as the fact most units only have one AC and 30 amp service is more than adequate for a typical rig with only one AC. With two AC units, 30 amp service can work if a good power management system is installed for controlling AC operation. I'm not experienced in that technology, but I remember seeing some Winnebago motorhomes that had two ac units on 30 amp service with a power management system.

Just one of the reasons we went right on to the Super C... More of everything. Two air conditioners a must in Texas and that works best with 50A service. #2 on the list was Hydraulic Jacks.... From there its more Carrying Capacity, more Towing Capacity, more headroom, bigger basement and on and on... Unfortunately more of everything comes at more cost as well.

Our Class C Chateau which is 30 AMP has 2 AC's. It has a power management system with load shedding on both shore and generator power. Watching the load readout, we do get close to 30 AMPs. Have to be mindful what we're turning on especially in the summer.

In time Class C manufactures are going to have to step this up.. the Onan 4000 and 30A as STDF

then when you go 2 AC, Onan 5500, 50A,, power mamangers and gizmos are nice but power is power and watts are watts,, many like to have thier cake and eat it to, not wait for the coffee..

Better , AC's with power saversa nd easy starts need to come into play on more models.. Onan needs to start making more inverter style setus that are fuel effiect etc.. RV onboard genny tech is old, a few hi end new onans are better.. but..

The system moniters are nice,, but 2 AC, Electric water heaters, resdential fridges,, a Keurig will tax any system LOL, even 50A at some compgrounds that are under sourced and old...systems

Even read a recall today (brand-x, Class-C) 14,500-GVWR labels wrong, needed t 12,500-labels to be properly certified

thats a kicker, early class C fords came from ford at 12.5k, then RV manufacture re rated at 13,4000after package updates etc..

A 50 amp in class C would add some weight,, as in basic system, 60-10 lbs maybe, the 2nd AC adds another 100 or so and that is towards the rear,,

I have a 2016 29' Coachman. I found out on my very first trip that the 30amp Breaker sucked at the RV camp. Had the AC going and hit the microwave and blew the frigging breaker on the box. We spent the rest of the trip turning off the air when we wanted to use the Microwave..

I have since purchased a 50a to 30a dogbone and plan to use it ALL the time.

Thanks everyone for your inputs. I live in Texas and 2 ACs are necessary in the summer as with anywhere in the South. I have owned a Class A with 2 Acs, 5th wheel with 2 Acs, and a trailer with 2 Ac and all had 50 amps. Was just curious why Class C do not have 50 amps. I like the driveability of the Class C and that is why I'm am looking at them.

That was one of the selling points I liked about the Class C, 30 AMP hookups are easier to find, and cost less at a park.

Also I can plug it unto the house via a 15 Amp adapter.
