Winnebago View

I purchased a 2014 View and would like to tow a small car but would like to know if the View with Mercedes V-6 engine will handle this. Has anyone towed with this vehicle

The 2014 Winnebago View has a 5000 lbs towing and 500 lbs hitch rating. As long as one doesn't exceed the towing capacity, the gross vehicle weight rating, and the gross combined vehicle rating of 15250 lbs., any vehicle that can be towed, four down or on a dolly, can be accommodated.

While not the same I can comment on the ability of the om642 engine. I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee with the Mercedes diesel engine. On the Jeep the engine is rated for 7500 lbs and I have towed up to about 6k with it. Additionaly, we relocated from CT to TX last year and I towed my wife's Ford Escape. Barely knew it was there. If you are concerned about the engines ability, don't be. Just stay within the specs of the hitch, 5k and you will be fine.

I have a 2014 Via and tow my 4,000 pound Jeep with it. I have an auxiliary braking system to help stop the additional weight. Towing costs me about 2 mpg.

Joe,

We tow a Ford Escape, weighs about 3,300 lbs., 4-down with our 2012 Navion iQ. No problem. You should have no problem. Don't forget a good supplemental brake.

This pretty well covers it, it does need to be done exactly as instructions say:
