Wireless back up camera installation

I just purchased my first motor home, a 2003 Minnie Winnie 22R. I am installing a wireless camera, and I noticed an indentation close to the coach roof that appears to be an intentional placement for a camera. Can anyone give me some advise with this project?

Can't comment on the indentation but when I installed a wireless camera system on a Winnebago trailer, I wired it into the running lights. That way, I could have the camera on continuously while on the road by just turning on the parking lights and/or headlights. You'll love having a backup camera!

Give Winnebago a call as they might be able to give you some information!

I have a Winnebago 26a. It has a backup camera in that flat area. I installed a second wide-angle backup camera that I use as a rear view mirror. I installed the Garmin RV 770 GPS and the backup camera. I picked up the power from the aft TV. That way it's on all the time.

I wired to a 12v line to the interior lights, that's always hot. I added a switch to be able to turn the camera off when parked for a long period on batteries.

After installing, I found there was a 1/4" aluminum sheet behind the camera, the signal strength is OK, but I think it would be stronger if the aluminum wasn't in the propagation path.

Hard to say what's behind the indent though.
