Yes another slide question

2015 thor 28 class c. Schwintek slide, pretty sure. I get more noise than just the hum of motor. Not huge but hearing stuff, a slight thump here and there.. Is this normal or do you just hear hum of motor. It go's in and out fine. I do not see any gaps or signs of uneven tracking. I am in for it? Another question, is there any where you can shine a light and see internally behind those seals? Appreciate any info. Rails and seals look good and I was maintaining First unit with a slide.

Have you lubed them? It made a big difference on mine, I was recommended to use CRC Power lube. I sprayed the tracks and behind the seals at the top to get the motor gear and at the bottom to get where the shaft runs down to the bottom gearbox.Click image for larger version

I have the same concern - just ordered the recommended lubricant directly from Lippert... will see if it quiets things down.

Kwikee KwikLube™ Spray Lubricant - Various Options
SKU: 379176
Package Count
1 Can

Lippert is the parent company - my Slide says "Slim Track"

2017 Minnie Winnie 31 D 3 Slides

After 4 years of moderate use (about 4 months per year), no problems.

Does this lube leave a residue after drying that feel sticky or that would hold/ retain dirt/ grit? If so, switch to SILICONE, (that goes on wet, leaves invisible film)?

The lippert product I referred to goes on the moving parts of the motor, not the track. Less likely to attract dirt and grime, but I haven't received it yet so don't know.

Confusing, some videos show lubricating rails others not to. I hope I can get to the gear portion.

CRC is the stuff to use , you need to lube the motor in the top and bottom , I have to add a straw and bend it to do it, also you have a single gear at the bottom you need to lube that to. LCI has a good video online of how to lube them, you do not have to lube the rail.
