Yes it's that time of year again - we're back in Brooksville, FL in Hernando County. This year unlike the last the weather promises to behave if only for the rest of the week but that will be great. Right now that cold front associated with all the cyclonic activity we just sustained a couple of days ago has moved in and the the temps here are somewhat cool and miserable. Temp now is 52? and the heat is on!
The SE to NW runway is pretty populated almost out the the very end an almost 6000 foot runway. The motorhome are arranged in 2 lines and from my vantage point on the north south taxiway off of the Runway Drive entrance they extend off in to the distance and the end of the line disappears into the horizon. Now that's a rally!
There is a huge tent centrally located in the complex that perhaps it can hold 3000 or more people. This tent is used for all the entertainment venues.
Like last year there is also a huge vendor tent with as many as 232 vendors arranged in 8 rows for some 300 or more feet. There are upward of a dozen major RV dealers here of all types and I believe the biggest representation here is Lazy Days. Freightliner, Spartan and Workhorse are represented as far as chassis go. You can buy anything from a Sprinter based Super B or Class C all the way up to a million plus dollar Featherlight or Prevost.
There's a good chance that there may be a UFO here in retail form with one of the Georgetown dealers so I'll have to go and check out the coach displays tomorrow.
The vendors will finish setting up tomorrow and it should be a zoo in there because not many were set up today. There are still many coach display units that need to be parked in the coach display area and they are all bunched up as of this evening.
The rally officially kicks off on Wednesday and will finish up on Sunday.
If you're in the area drop on in at the "A Sweetheart of a Rally" located on the property of the Hernando County Airport.

Hey Mike, sounds like quite a shindig(sp?) Glad the weather is clearing for you. I think our deep-freeze has moved on and we're going to see 56 degrees today.
Can you imagine the look on the face of an unsuspecting pilot on final, dropping out of the cloud cover to the spectacle of hundreds of MHs and tents on his intended landing spot?
Have fun and be safe.
