Minnesota is a beautiful state to visit. Yes, the mosquitoes can be bothersome at times, but that really depends on many things - tall grass, next to wetlands, thickly forested so there is no breeze, etc. I was born and raised in northern Minnesnowta where the horse flies and deer flies made strafing passes at a you. Their bites are wicked!

I haven't noticed a big problem with mosquitoes at campgrounds near the metro area. The efforts at keeping the population down has been successful. Of course, when we have a lot of tourists there are that many more people to help kill them off.
