Minnesota Weather??
We are taking a work camping job in central Minnesota this summer and was wondering what type of weather, insects, etc. we can expect. Any
info would be greatly appreciated as we want to be prepared. Thanks!

Typically Minnesooooata experiences all the types of weather that are present anywhere in the US. Sometimes all in one day! Presently it is plunging toward 30 below tonight.
But seriously, in the Summer it can be blistering hot, (90+), and really cold for Sumner (40). It can be dry or humid. It can be sunny or cloudy. And again sometimes all of this in one day.
In other words prepare for temps from 40 to 100 degrees and periods of rain.
BTW, bring a shotgun for the mosquitoes! Our state bird.

Thanks for the reply but seriously are the mosquitos a big problem?? Temps are fine and we are used to a wide range of change. But bird
sized mosquitos?? Yikes!!!!

Seriously, the mosquitoes can be a really big problem. Most camp grounds spray for them, and in our area the Metropolitan Mosquito Control sprays the entire area for them, however in a wet Summer that often does little good. Bring lots of Deet.
And no, not bird sized but close.

We lived in the Twin Cities some years ago, usually had a very nice summer . . . both days of it.
Seriously, mosquitoes are pretty annoying.

where we live the mosquitoes don't come out until dark, I think our summers are great though, that is why we stay here.

I was hoping you were in one of the few areas where there is only running water and few marshes.
If the park sprays for da skeeters you may be okay on that front.
June thru August is when the hot stretches come, and they bring high humidity along.
If the skeeters are controlled you may be in for a fine time. Look forward to reports!

The only thing that will be annoying is the mosquitoes.

That's interesting, our daughter lives north of Seattle. We are afraid if we go visit there for too long we will never leave!! Still a possibility......
