Padre Island Nat. Seashore

I am thinking about volunteering as a camp host at the Malachite Campground on the beach at Padre Island. Has anyone ever worked
there? Just looking for your experiences.

Beware of the Salt

Padre Island is beautiful and a great place to visit, I do not know the Campground so unable to comment. The only caution I would mention is the Salt and the damage it can and will do to your vehicle and RV. I have witnessed workers at a RV Campground on the Gulf Coast after they had worked there for 5 to 6 months and the rust to there RV and vehicle it was not a pretty site and very costly to put right if at all. Just be warned and know that Salt and Sea Wind can be damaging over an extended period.
