Diesel fuel costs

Hi, new to the forums but been an rver for years. I used the be stationary but recently I've been hitting the road more and more. My question is how are you guys saving money on fuel? Good Sam's saves me 8 cents a gallon but I'm not always near a flying J and sometimes their prices seem higher anyways. Are there any other programs our there that I'm not aware of?
I'm on a budget and fuel has become a major expense now that I'm moving around more. Thanks in advance for any tips!

Go to TSD Logistics web site and join their fuel program. Will save you up to $0.50 per gallon

I have a discount card from Rv fuel club. Lots of locations. Saved 70 cents a gallon at Little America in flagstaff last week. Google it.

Lol....that's what the OP is asking about....I have the TSD card, but as I can get into most places, I'll only use truck stops if nothing else available......cheaper elsewhere in most areas due to tank size, and mostly not having to wait in line....

x2 on Gas Buddy.

Remember that if you're getting 6 mpg and fuel is $2.00 a gallon, it does not pay to drive 10 miles out of your way to save $1.50 on a tank fill!

I have the same Good Sam FJ/Pilot card. They are never the cheapest option but the FJ's have designated RV islands that make fueling MUCH easier. You can also use the card at the truck pumps and save your 8 cents per gallon.

Since getting the TSD card I've done 6 fill-ups on my F350, pumped 204 gallons and saved $107 or 52 cents a gallon.

If I'm towing and getting horrible mileage them I'm passing by truck stops on the hwy and they are not out of the way. If I'm not towing my F350 gets between 16 and 18 mpg. Since I save about $18 a fill-up it is worth going out of my way to fill up, within reason.

Another vote for TSD Logistics. No cost to sign up, low fees, potentially huge savings, card is never cancelled from not using it. No reason not to IMO.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined us!

I use Gas Buddy to see where the lowest cost is in the immediate area. I got a PenFed Rewards credit card way back that gives us a 5% cash rebate on all fuel purchases, as long as it's pay at the pump. I think someone said they have discontinued that card now. Not sure if they have a different one that gives similar rebates.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

I think some of you are missing the point about discounted fuel prices when you're talking about 5 or 8 cents off, or 5% back in your credit card. First these fuel cards from TSD and the RV Fuel Club are commercial discounts off of the CASH PRICE ... so compared to using your credit card you're getting 5 to 10 cents off even before the discount. TSD has save me 100's and Last month I got diesel at Little American in Flagstaff with my RV Fuel Club card for $1.72 a gallon ... I think it was 70 cents off of the price posted.

No. It must be tied to a bank account.
