No wasting time on waste

Hello Everyone!

New member and first post. So, of course, I have questions that have probably been addressed a million times in various other threads and forums.

My main questions pertains to waste disposal. If I use a bucket and Double Doodie bag system, what is the easiest method of disposing of the waste bags? Can the waste bags be disposed of in a public dumpster if certain procedures are followed?

Thanks!

I am sure there are legalities involved somehow.

I would treat it just like the millions of diapers that are disposed of everyday by being thrown in the regular trash.

define 'public dumpster' ?

Dumpster in allies, behind businesses are not 'public'

Dumpsters in Campgrounds are for those using the CG Facilities....which if you are in a CG why not use the restrooms?

Define "Waste"

Dry or Liquid?

Dry waste goes into a campground. Even things like soda cans, plastic bottles of various cleaning supplies, take your time and learn to do it best..

Liquid waste is two catagories. Black is toilet waste. Gray is kitchen sink stuff, or things like washing off a baby.

Other question - What 'TIME' are you trying to save? Folks in a hurry are the ones who pull out with the sewer, fresh water, or even electricity still attached to the pedestal. And make huge, expensive, difficult messes to clean and get repaired.

It isn't a race.

Showdown, keep a checklist and be careful. That saves time especilly over breaking things.

I think he meant he's not "beating around the bush" in asking the question.

Bagged human waste is a little different from a diaper, even an adult diaper which has more absorbent material. I would not want to encounter such bags if I was emptying the trash at a gas station, or walmart parking lot. I'd think putting the bags inside the regular trash bag, then dumping directly into a large campground dumpster would be acceptable, never into a smaller container that would be handled manually.

Bagged human waste is perfectly legal to dispose in trash containers, just like diapers. Of course it should be well bagged and secured inside the bags. I use multiple layered strong compostable bags made for portable toilets and I have separating toilet, which I highy advise to use, so the waste is not liquid or leaky and doesn't have smell, really, plus it has absorbent odor neutralizing medium added such as natural cat litter and sawdust.

Regarding trash dumpsters, I usually look for large dumpsters, you can locate them in many gas stations, especially big truck stops. Public parks. Ranger stations sometimes. Grocery store parking lots. Transfer stations are often free for household waste. Roadside rest areas. Recreation areas parking, marinas, public beach parking. Fairgrounds often have trash dumpsters open to all town visitors, and I often buy shower/water at the fairgrounds anyway. Some towns have big dumpsters placed on the streets, everyone can use them. If I can't locate a big dumpster I will use smaller ones. Satellite map and street view help to locate the dumpsters.

You absolutely need to save time, which is of essense, errands day + long drive to the new camp is no joke, I find there are always multiple trash disposal opportunities right along the route at places I rest, shop, shower or fill up and I usually carry adiitional trash I picked up on public lands, which sometimes is a lot.
