Oh heck I guess should have read all previous posts, so the FMCA membership does not cover roadside assistance!! Only med evac etc they don't tell you that when you sign up, so now it's another $84 for this. What a rip imo

It depends on what your needs are, there are several benefits that come with FMCA membership, a couple of the big ones are the non-emergency medical transport, and assistance they provide getting your RV back home in case something should happen to you on a trip. This includes such things as paying up to $500 to get your designated driver to wherever your RV is located, in years past this including a pool of volunteer drivers, which I think they no longer offer due to liability concerns.

Roadside assistance also is not listed as an included FMCA benefit, same as Escapees.
Both use SafeRide RV as the provider. Shop around.

Hi, all - good to hear from all of you.
I am a newb RV owner of an '89 Fleetwood Southwind 25.5 on a P30 chassis with 454 engine and carburetor. I have had this barely over a month and AAA has been great! The first time I used them, they provided 2 gallons of gas free (I bought three more, just in case) when I ran out at the propane dealer (turns out my gas gauge never goes much below halfway down). I also had a starting problem on a hill (another strike against that lying gas gauge) and they came out and gave me a jump.
I learned three things: 1) don't trust the gas gauge below halfway; 2) don't park on an uphill when gas may be low; and, 3) AAA has been good to me. There, my $.02!

SO in looking at the FMCA website the membership fee is $86 per year with multi year discounts..
That does include the evac feature but does not include the Roadside Service, RSS which you can buy for an additional cost: Towable RVs $129,
Motorized RVs $159
that puts the total for one year on a MH at $245
https://www.fmca.com/fmca-rv-roadside-assistance
Which is about the same cost as Coach Net at $249... both seem to be good plans when compared to Good Sam etc. and the cost vs the benefit is where the magic lies.

Don't forget to look at your RV insurance plan. With my State Farm insurance I pay less than a dollar per month for roadside assistance. They have towed my diesel pusher a total of three times over the last 20 years. The last tow of 52 -well after dark - miles didn't cost me a dime. My policy also covers up to 2 hours of labor to get you back on the road again.
