Toilet paper-- real options?

Preparing for our first motorhome (used class A)...

I've seen reviews on a number of various RV toilet papers, but would like to hear from actual RVers.

Is it true that there are regular brands that dissolve down as well as the pricier rv-specific brands of TP?

What are our options?

The short answer is yes. If you go to youtube and search for "rv toilet paper test you'll get lots of videos. Here's just one: Happy viewing.

Thank you!

Didn't think there would be so much on youtube! There are many different such videos I just binge watched, lol! Lots of different TPs being tested.

Just use whatever single play paper you want along with lots of water. Flush two bowls of water down into the empty black tank after you dump. Always fill the bowl before you use it except to pee.

Scotts 1000.
Manufacturer says RV ok.
We've used for years.
We dry camp a lot, so used with minimal water.
Available typically at any Walmart as you travel. In various package sizes.

I have been using Angel Soft for close to 20 years. Current MH has a macerator toilet and dump system but all previous did not. Never have had an issue.

Inexpensive, too! (Works just fine in the MH. No issues.)

5 years with Costco TP. Somewhere it said to put TP into a jar with water and shake. If it breaks down in a minute or so, it's OK.

We use the Walmart version of the Scotts 1000 sheet rolls. Works just fine. I’ve had to buy the Scotts a couple times when the Walmart brand was out of stock, and it seems to dissolve not quite as easily. Still no clogs though.

I think as long as you stay away from anything fluffy or “quilted” you should be ok

We also use the Happy Campers tank treatment for every tank. I’m not sure how much it helps to break down the paper, but it seems to help with the smell.

Thank you, everyone, for your input.

I'll have to find someplace to -- sit -- and consider my options.

Install a bidet seat - then you barely need to use ANY tp - so it doesn't matter much what brand it is -

As long as you use adequate water, most any TP is fine. If you try to flush dry, or don't keep at least 25% liquid in your black tank, you WILL have problems!!
