There are a lot of variables with this trip. Are you planning on doing any sightseeing along the way or are you looking for a direct route. The timeframe will depend on how many hours a day youd like to drive. For some people they dont like to drive more than 250 to 300 miles a day. Other people are good with 500 to 600 miles a day. What time of year are you planning to take this trip? If you can give us a few more particulars Im sure youll get good suggestions.

my god, there are so many options / opportunities!

first thing i would do is determine the dates that you actually want to be at the grand canyon. even that can vary depending upon what you want to see / do. decide where you want to stay. then find out if you can get reservations for the dates you want at the place you want. popular places to stay are trailer village within the national park or one of several rv parks in williams, az.

as far as routes to take you need to provide more details on you would prefer. what do you like? at 300 miles per day it is 9 or 10 days from new england to the grand canyon one way.
