10k+ GPS sites of all camping spots, had w MS Streets GPS program
pardon my phone's speech-to-text grammar.
Some of the boondocking spots that database had haven't shown up in any of the apps that I've tried. so I'm trying to find that database so that I can load that up from time to time. Maybe I can make a Google maps "my maps" and then save that and it would just load all the spots on to a saved Google maps. Maybe someone remembers that and knows what app has that database.
Details:
Back in like 2006 I think it was, before Iphones were good, blackberries were popular, and I had a Microsoft GPS program. I think it was called Streets and Trips and you had a little GPS doggle that would plug into the USB of any laptop and then you could run navigation. We would do that going across the U.S., back then phones didn't have navigation offline, and I remember getting a database I think from this forum and uploaded it to the program and it had 10,000 + GPS sites. I think I even added it to my blackberry at the time and then you could see all those sites in the area you were in, and it would have some information and then I think you could add details to those sites and then save the file again. I bring it up because I have not found anything with that much detail in any of the applications vs what I found on that database. You could be driving on a highway offline and it would show you a state or federal or even reservation campground as well as just random places that people enjoyed camping at especially boon docking.
