Buying a RV Lot?

We are contemplating buying a RV lot where we will also have a small Casita built. It will be a deeded lot. Would this be considered fulltime and would it affect my insurance? We would have to finance the lot buy and then pay it off when we sell our S&B. This money would also pay for the Casita.

What are my options for financing the buying of the lot? Also are there any other things we need to think about?

If you aren't fulltiming yet, how do you know that this is a place that you would want to stay for longer periods of time?

I personally would wait a year or two and see what area you really like for spending extended periods of time, say winter or summer, and then run the numbers to see if buying a lot would make sense over the long term.

This site is in one of our favorite areas we visit. This would be our home. We are wanting to downsize plus get the perks that this resort has. Our motorhome is to small to fulltime in. I mainly wanted to make sure that any legal requirements necessary do not declare this as fulltime living. It is also a 55+ resort which we want. The Casita will bigger than our motorhome.

We would have to live in our motorhome while the Casita is being built. We wil be parked right beside the Casita.

You might want to check with your insurance agent to see how many months in the motorhome qualify as fulltime. Often it is 5 or 6 months required for fulltiming status.
