Six months IS full-time, for all practical purposes. You just are taking a break from it afterwards!

Get several of those long flat rolling storage bins they make for under the bed in your real house. They do really well in the basement storage. Have him put lots of extra clothes in these bins. They are quite light and space-efficient. If he needs the extra clothes, then great...you have them right there. If he doesn't (my guess is, he won't), he can pare down after your 6-month adventure.

Ahhh, that us assuming the pack rat has not filled all available space under the rv.

When we were on the road through several climate changes I put my jeans and sweaters in a duffle bag and stowed it in the car. I switched out when I needed heavier clothes.

Someone mentioned layering, it gets cold in Indian Wells in March! At a tennis tournament, plenty warm during the day,, we noticed people bringing in bags with blankets and winter woolies for the night session. OMG! I about froze the first night. We had our bag the next night, coat, gloves, hat, scarf, throw.
