Comfort Thermostat

We have a Comfort Duo Heat Thermostat that is not working properly. Even after reading the manual on this thing, and following the instructions, I am pretty sure the thermostat is not working. How difficult is it to replace it? It seems that the wire on the back do not separate from the thermostat. I want to replace it. Is this something I can do myself?

Can you give us some more info about what is not working. If you select heat pumps for heat it can take up to 5 miniutes for it to kick in and then only if it is warm enough outside for the heat pumps to become usable. I have to assume that being winter it is the heat side that is not working.

Comfort thermostat

Here is a pic of the thermostat that is giving us problems.
The LP is not working at all.
The manual says that the set temp needs to be within 5 degrees of the actual temp or it will not use elect heat, but will use LP to heat.
When we set the temp for 2-3 degrees above actual temp, the furnace will kick on then immediately kick back off. Again, the LP does not even come on.
The current outdoor temp is 45'. Indoor is 53', set thermostat to 54'. Came on the immediately shut off,
We have a 2006 NuWa Hitchhicker Premeir. Just purchase. We live in full time.
The name of the furnace is Suburban.

Wiring for 8 wire comfort thermostat

Here is another problem I got myself into...while taking out the thermostat and having to pull more wiring through the very thin r.v. wall, the red power wire was pulled off another incoming wire, problem, not being electrically minded, I don't know which wire it went to. So here is the rest of the wiring diagram....
1 - White wire from thermo to white and light blue wire
2 - Yellow wire from thermo to yellow wire
3 - Green wire from thermo to green wire
4 - Blue wire from thermo to green and white with red stripe wires
5 - Orange wire from thermo to red wire
6 - Grey wire from thermo to red wire
7 - White with black stripe from thermo to brown wire
8 - Red wire from thermo to --------- (please let me know)

Down in the wall or on the rig side of the 9 pin plug you should find a white or red wire. Just use a test light to see if you have 12 v to this wire as the red is power in. You might find that if you turn off all fluorescent lights the tstat might start working. The black ones were more susceptible to interference from the ballasts in the fluorescent lights. Also you may have a problem with your furnace.
