Hi, happy to found you all, we will be joining the FT club in just 3 weeks when we close on our house. Any advice? Stories that you might share, if I would have known then what I know now...

Ideas for internet?
Without a home base what is the best way to use my Directv Satellite. We used to grab the receivers from the house and go.

Really looking forward to this lifestyle.

Thanks

I am a newbie full-timer for a month and a half now.

I love it. My 3 cats have adapted very very well.

Advice that I would pass on is to expect things to need fixing on your rig at any time and be prepared. My very first full-time travel day gave me 2 destroyed tires! I used Good Sam's for one and my insurances's roadside assistance for the other.

Hope this life-style works out well for you!

For internet, I am getting Starlink as soon as it releases. Until then, this is my soon-to-be setup. Its paid for but back-ordered due to high demand. I believe it is pretty much the best equipment one can get in the affordability range for just myself. I also ordered the 3 meter antenna extension.

With directv, use auto pay and keep a receiver you already have and I use a King Flex antenna and a Slimline 3 lnb dish on a tripod if staying in one location for a while.......the Flex won't give you HD, but with a newer tv, for me, it's not a big deal......a good tripod is the one from TV 4 RV.com.....I'm using a H-24 .receiver which will work for both std and HD.....

Congrats.

For internet we use our Phones as a hot spot if campgrounds have not internet. We also use a Wingard to provide security on campground system.

We use a pay as you go system for our DISH system. I am sure that Direct has a similar plan. It was much easier for us with DISH in getting local stations as we move about the country.

Good luck and congrats again on the FT lifestyle.

Welcome to the fulltime RV lifestyle! We were on the road for 12 of the best years of my life! We are back to part-time again as age and health have been catching up with us, but still miss the nomadic life. One of the big questions you need to consider is where you will call home, or make your legal domicile. I suggest you read the following article.
