Desktop or Laptop??

Good morning all !!

For those of you full timers who also work on the road, I am curious as to what your preference is...desktop or laptop? I will be working on the road and right now we have both....and we are trying to decide if it is worth it to keep both. Our 5W does have a smell desk area and we can work it to accommodate the desk top...but I am still on the fence about it. So I am just curious what others are doing. Thanks! And I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!!

Between DW and I we have five computers. Two desk tops and three lap tops. Why? She is an Attorney and still working and actually can work on the road.

We no longer take a desk top with us. The laptop will accomplish anything we need nowadays. Used to be they wouldn't. She has light weight scanners and a printer that pack along very well.

You have to suit your needs and whatever works well for you.

Why does it have to be one or the other? If you have room for both.

DW works on the road and has a laptop along with a wireless printer/photocopier. I have a Samsung tablet that keeps me entertained while DW works.

I guess one of my concerns with the laptop is the tower being jostled around on a regular basis..... But on the other hand my desk top is barely a couple of years old..... My printer is a little big but it has a flat bed scanner and can be wireless ..and is also barely a couple years old. Decisions...decisions....haha

Well..that makes me feel better...seeing as my work will also supply me with a laptop or two! .... I was thinking - how crazy to have four computers! Guess not!

Wife does consulting part time we have laptops, two so we have a back up and then I have a Surface to keep me entertained if I cannot get to the laptop. We also have iPhones for e-mail and surfing (with your glasses on).

I do have her set up with an aux larger screen for her work and we have a copy, fax, scan etc machine. So room is a premium and no sense carrying a desk top when a laptop does the job and stores easily and is portable when if for any reason we are not in the MH.

I can't imagine ever owning a desktop computer again. They take up so much room, even in a stick house, much less than in an RV.

If you really HAD to have a larger monitor, you can always use an external monitor with your laptop. Same if you want a special keyboard.

I would add we have room for a desk top, I know that because something else is in that space right now.

Lap Top.

Laptop. We actually spend a fair amount of time "working" at the picnic table. Wireless is wonderful! \ken

Have not had a tower for 15 years. No need. Gamer? Get big monitor. I have a laptop, but it is mostly for picture and movie management.

99% of everything happens on my iPhone. Email, FB, text, banking, bill pay, investing, iRVM2, etc. Simple is nifty!

Printing? About 2x a year at Staples. Printer ink dries out before I use 5% of it.

We have a wide screen laptop and a tablet. Small printer/scanner sets on the floor when traveling.
