Unhappy Employment - DOL Issues with PMB

We have used Americas Mailbox in SD for the past four years since going fulltime. The only issue we have run into is that the SD Department of Labor will not allow my employer to contribute the required unemployment insurance to South Dakota because even though I can use my PMB address for state and federal taxes, they don't recognize PMB as a valid address for the Department of Labor.

Has anyone run into this problem with a PMB in Texas? We're considering switching our full-time status from SD to TX because of it.

Any experiences? Thanks.

Are you an Escapees member? I know this as come up several times on their Facebook page and forums. Most people IIRC ended up changing to a Texas domicile. But recently the Texas Escapees mail system has gone through some changes you might want to investigate before making a change. We have a friend who is still working and fulltime, she uses her son’s home address as a work-around.

If you just have a PMB address, that's the problem. They're saying that you can't live in a mailbox, and they need a residential address.

You'll need to have a domicile address, an address you could live at. Escapees has been handling this by providing a street domicile address at the Texas or Florida RV parks and a separate PMB address. It can be a real pain in the posterior.
