Thanks Camper25! Hopefully by the time he gets to you it’ll have blown itself out a little bit.

Right now at 10:38 PM it’s probably blowing about 30 or 35 miles an hour but there’s no rain. I’m sitting in a chair behind the RV, we have it pointed southeast....oops that was a big gust!...probably around 40! So it’s not hitting the sides. So far so good.

I grew up in Florida and I’m very familiar with hurricanes so for the most part I’m not too concerned. It’s just those darn tornadoes that worry me!!

Nope...no slides! And THATS why we’re looking for a new used RV. I love my DW of 42 years BUT a little more room would be nice...[emoji851]

Hey Camper25, I trust you made it through.

We did but WOW! That rain and wind sounded like a turbo powered car wash!! And even though we had the jacks down we still experienced some abrupt jerks which unnerved us both.

But now it’s fine and only an occasional moderate wind and rain burst.

Haven’t decided if we’ll move on or stay another night. But for sure not at this Walmart.

Last night about 1030 as I was sitting outside behind the RV which was blocking the wind and having a adult beverage, a Panama City policeman drove up and told us he knows the manager personally and does not want RVers here staying the night. I showed him my RV Parkey app and it clearly stated overnighters are OK but I said I would move. And of course this is in the middle of the hurricane. I then walked over to the Walmart to talk to the manager and it was closed due to the hurricane. So I walked back to my RV and noticed he was at a derelict RV so I walked over and told him I’m exhausted, and I had driven from Baton Rouge earlier in the morning and I would be out first thing in the morning and he said it was OK then. Whew! Close call!

Made it ok, but it does make an old guy nervous. Lots of power out in this area, so the lines at McDonalds, Burger King, etc are 25 cars long waiting on food this morning.

Hey folks, checking in, we left Panama City Beach today around two or three in the afternoon as my DW had a friend she was visiting with, plus I had to work.

We took 98S. then stopped at Saint Joe and had an amazing lunch/dinner at a restaurant called Provisions. I highly recommend them, top notch food for a very reasonable price.

We then traveled all the way down to Panacea Florida which was a beautiful drive along the ocean, again highly recommend this route.

The wind is still blowing pretty strong but the skies are blue and the road is smooth but I was only doing about 50 which made it very enjoyable.

Not sure which way we’re going, tomorrow we’re in no hurry as we are very much enjoying traveling the back roads as I prefer them over interstates, especially here in Florida.

I didn’t especially think that we would be driving our 23-year-old gas rig all the way down from Spokane to Melbourne Beach Florida as I thought we would be picking up a diesel pusher somewhere along the way. But here we are almost at Melbourne Beach and this old rig is running like a top. If it had slides I’d probably reconsider buying a diesel pusher as this drives and rides really well. I have to say I’ll probably miss this rig when we go to sell it.

Feeling a little melancholy tonight as I know our adventure is almost over at least for this part. I know we’ll do it all again starting in April but a different route, we just don’t know which route will take this time.

Thanks for taking the time to read and comment!
