Full Timer Again

How do you insure your rig as fulltimers? I was told one time years ago, that an RV that was lived in full time could not have RV insurance on it, due it not being a full time residence? Right now I just have coverage thru my regular agent, but wonder if there is something else out there. Also, getting ready to upgrade to a bigger 5th wheel...Insurer now is American Family...

Progressive has full-time RV insurance, as do various other companies... Find a local agent that specializes in it. We use Epic Insurance in SD, who may or may not be licensed in your state.

The difficulty comes in because some of the time the RV is a moving motor vehicle, and some of the time it is a stationary home. There are elements of coverage in terms of personal liability and property damage to your RV that may not properly bridge that divide, and need to be specifically addressed in order to fully protect yourself.
A good independent agency will know whatís needed. Miller Agency has been mentioned, and I know Escapees has an agency that works with them regularly. Itís not difficult and not particularly expensive, but the basic RV coverage you may get added to your auto policy is not adequate to the task.
Good luck!

Millers is a Broker that deals with RV full Timers Insurance needs

Full Time RV coverage is like a Home Owners Insurance Coverage plus Auto.
Medical/Slip-Fall/Liability and Personal Affects PLUS 'Agreed Value' or 'Full Replacement' are items you want in your policy

Remember the RV is your HOME ---just on wheels. Protect it and YOURSELVES.

Thanks to all that replied. I contacted Progressive and got a quote on the rig we are thinking about trading our present rig in on. 134 a month. When we get back from going back to the house and packing it up, etc . If we trade I will contact Miller and see what they offer. If we don't trade then I will get estimates on what we own right now..
