Full timer insurance

We were looking at full time insurance for truck and trailer , we had quotes from progressive and foremost, as with all things insurance variables on amount of coverage.is one better than other as for dealing with claims and hope we do not have any . Tks for your passing on your knowledge of this subject . And we are open to other insurance companies you suggest. And also good Sam for roadside service are escapees if they offer it . Thinking of joining escapees anyway sounds like A good group.

We have Foremost for 6-7 years and one claim this past May. Farmer's on car & house. Foremost was great, ( Farmer's agent) They waved our $500.00 deductible because we never had a claim before. Agent worked well with us and RV repair work.

We have had three claims with Progressive, one of which was a glass claim (front windshield).

They have been fantastic with all of them.

I don't have experience with either of those two companies, but go with whatever auto carrier you currently use is. Sit down with your agent and talk to him/her in easy to understand plain old English about what you want coverage for. Don't try to say you want "full timer insurance" or "complete coverage" or any non-sense like that. Just tell them what kind of situations you want to be covered for, and how much coverage you want. More than likely, they have policies that will cover you if you just ask in good ole' plain English (or Spanish if that's your thing).

If you're worried about personal liability (someone tripping over your steps and suing you), they will have very cheap policies that cover that. Like $200 a year for a million dollars of coverage kind of cheap. Honestly, it's not hard to get better coverage than "full timer insurance" for less money. You just need to talk to your agent. Don't be afraid to eat up 2 hours of his/her time if that's what it takes. That's quite literally an insurance agent's job.

Many insurance companies will not offer full time RV coverage. Some who do are limited by the State you are domicled in. I am in So Dakota and went with Geico. I also have my Jeep and Harley as well as an umbrella policy with them.

We have full timer coverage with Progressive. Roadside assistance and claims have been excellent. Take a look at National General also.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like you're talking about an umbrella policy. An umbrella policy only raises the limits on existing coverage--it doesn't provide any coverage of its own.

In the case of someone tripping on your steps, you need some sort of liability coverage for that. The usual way to get it is through homeowner's or renter's insurance, but fulltimers don't have that, so they get policies that have "fulltimer's liability" listed as a line item, with a separate premium for that.

Are you aware of a different type of coverage that would offer protection from a lawsuit by someone tripping on your steps, that you can get in lieu of what is traditionally considered a "fulltimer's policy"?
