For those not familiar with SSI:
https://www.ssa.gov/ssi/
I would recommend you contact them directly; not on a forum. You really want to make sure you're not jeopardizing any benefits. Go in person to an office to explore the issues.

SSI (supplement security income )is a form of old age welfare ! People that did not make enough money to be above poverty , then SSI brings you up to the poverty level ! That’s how I understand it !

If you already get SSI and have a house, why in the world you want to sell that house and be full time in an RV? A house appreciates and you could possibly get a reverse mortgage and still have a "home". You will never be able to do that with a RV. Once you sell your house, you probably won't have enough money to buy another and a RV will depreciate not appreciate. I have no idea what your financial situation is, but if you qualify for SSI ... might really want to rethink selling your house.

The home you live in is an exempt resource. Which means it is not looked at when determining your eligibility. However I think the money from the sale of a house becomes an available "resource". SSI has resource maximums. Which means your SSI could stop until your resources fall below the maximum again (which means you could be terminated until you 1) spend the money and 2) go through a period of ineligibility based on how long they think the money should last for basic living needs). If your SSI stops, so do your automatic medical benefits. If you also receive SNAP, that could stop too. Of course I am no longer an expert due to the rule changes since I retired, so you really need to check with your SSA office and welfare office.

Perhaps reading this will help you better understand what social security is, what it is about and how it's funded!

A neighbor drew SSI because of a personal illness and little lifetime work history.
Another neighbor draws SSI simply because she is of age and has but little lifetime work history.
Many people draw SSI for any number of reasons. It is for those having little to no work history.
