Going full time sooner than planned

We've RVed for 50 years (never full time) and spend up to 3 months at a time in Florida. Decided @ 74 to do the full time thing for 3 or 4 years. Put our house up for sale by owner and had a buyer within an hour. Closing is scheduled for 11/20 and we negotiated a 12/27 occupancy. Where is the best information I could read up on prior to our leaving? We are scheduled 01/01/21 to 04/30/21 at our usual RV park in Florida. Some of my questions are mail, voting, renewal of licenses, taxes, residency, absolute essentials, internet, dish or direct tv, Rx, etc. Fortunately we have 10 weeks but they will slip by quickly. Looking for a condensed book that covers the basics. What has been your expertises? Thanks. Too much informative is not enough.

Escapees is a good source for full-timing information.

The first thing to do is set up your domicile and mail address. Then start having your mail forwarded to it and do change of addresses on everything.

Have fun in your new lifestyle!!

You can't go wrong with Escapee's and since Florida is one of their sponsored states, you can make that your home address and not have state income tax to deal with. We have been Escapee members for 8+ years now.

Welcome to the world of “Where should we go next?”. First rule: enjoy!
Ok. Without a doubt, Escapees is the single best source for the most comprehensive information and assistance on domicile selection and change. You have to pick a domicile, but you can pick anywhere you want. Most folks have a reason: home, no taxes, easy bureaucracy, etc. Texas, South Dakota, and Florida are the three most common choices, for the above reasons. They also provide a wide range of services of specific interest to fulltimers besides the most common stuff. Call them and join. They can make it all smooth.
We are Escapees, and their services have been flawless for 8 years. We chose Texas, and the Escapees folks were great.

mail, .............Escapees
Residency........ Texas
voting,.........Texas, absentee, easy, reliable
renewal of licenses, Texas, online, easy
taxes, ....... none
essentials,..... up to you, far less than you think
Cell service....... Verizon, AT&T best coverage
internet...often cell based, booster sometimes good to have.
dish or direct tv,.... both have happy users. We have Dish. Good mobile program, works well for RVers. Very good app. Very easy to change location.
Rx,..... we’ve used Walmart pharmacies for 8 years. They are everywhere (except North Dakota); easy to move a scrip; excellent, smooth nationwide computer system; over 4700 stores nationwide. Good app. In fairness, we know folks who use Walgreens, CVS, Costco pharmacy, etc., and they’re happy, too.
