How do you handle dishwashing?

Just curious how you manage daily dishwashing. We get behind in our S&B with a dishwasher! I'm curious how others manage this. Wash right after using and put away? Stack in a sink until full then wash a batch? Use paper? Any recommendations on a setup (drainers you like?), limiting water usage if boondocking?

Basically tips and tricks on this daily chore would be interesting to hear!

We wash and clean up right after each meal, we have a small drying rack, and after what is in it is dry, we put them away. Same at home, when the dishwasher is full, we run it, when done, put them away. This is the only method that will avoid getting backed up that I know of. This is the exact one we have......
Paper and plastic would be the throw-way method.......not to much to wash other than pans then........if used. We grill a lot when out, and at home.

This method cured the problem we had.......

We always wash after each use. Don't carry that many dishes/utensils/cookware, so do it out of necessity . Too bad we don't do it at home LOL

Meal, wash, dry, put away! How hard is it? Takes maybe five minutes in total depending on whether were eating inside or outside.

Depends -

If at a ful hook up site, generally wash as we go - no stacking.

If at a camp site with just water and electric, depending how long we are at this camp ground, we may stack a days worth in the sink and clean up at night.

If at a water/elect site for a week or more - lots of paper and plastic ware used.

If at a electric only site for more than a couple days, paper & plastic.

Never boondocked...

We have a dish pan made for RVs kept in the sink, generally with soapy water fresh at the beginning of the day for dished to soak until clean up.

Good luck....

There is plenty of time for the little tasks when you have no lawn to mow.

I cook, the wife washes, and I dry, same as at home. It took us about two days to figure out that leaving the dirty dishes on the table is a lot easier than trying to stack them somewhere near the sink while washing. We never leave dirty dishes to wash later, though I might soak a sticky pot in the sink to make it easier to clean. Paper plates on the road, and real dishes at the destination.

X2.

I am the "dishwasher. Takes five minutes for just the two of us. We wash by hand even though we have the Fisher/Paykel unit!

X3!
With just the 2 of us, and our preference for fairly simple meals, washing after every meal just takes a minute - even at the S&B.

I solved that problem 56 years ago!

No seriously, we try to use paper as much as possible and just don't let the other dishes stay in the sink, getting them washed and put away right after we eat!

Usually use paper for lunch. Other meals whoever does not cook does the dishes. Not a big deal. If we are traveling and there are lunch dishes they wait for supper or camp.

FWIW we each have an insulated coffee cup and tumbler from Kleen Kanteen. Greatly cuts down on the odd dishes as we we rinse and reuse. They are very good at keeping drink temperatures as we like them:

As others have said it takes about 5 minutes to do the dishes. How hard is that?

The old fashioned way: by hand. And, immediately after a meal.

It's more about getting into the habit of doing it?

There is a quote somewhere:
"The hardest part of ANY job, is getting started on it."
