How long have you been F/T?

We went fulltime in April 2012.

It was our dream for only ohhhhh 44 years.
But now, the journey is our destination!
We have seen many faces and places between the East and West coasts so far this year.

No house, no real estate taxes (by itself pays our way). We will do this until we can't.

Started with a pup tent in 1968, then pop-up (just a fold out tent with nothing more), then a 1973 Apache hard-sider pop-up, then small 94 C, small 96 A, and the 2011 A on in our profile.

Where will we NOT hurry to next?

Happy trails!

You can say that again!!!!!.. Some figures for folks who wonder.

Our house was a modest 2 bedroom in N.W. Detroit, a neighborhood that was nice when we moved in but...... Not so much when we split.

Taxes about 3,grand a year
Taxes on motor home about 380/year (Registration fee).

Gas, Electric, Water and Sewer, about 250/month
Two memberships 100/month (Actually less) parking for our "Week out" in the winter runs us about 120/month.. That's only in the winter Summer it's all membership (2 park systems alternating)

Snow shovelling... Well, we get LIQUID snow where I'm parked for the winter, the kind that just naturally runs off into the lake, which seriously needs it just now.

This is our 4th Winter full time, We hit the road on April 15, 2009. Lots of friends, One TV repair per year (That's something of a joke.. I'm a certified electronics tech by training and though I have never worked PROFESSIONALLY in that field,,, The skills I've kept up, Some of the "TV" repairs have been kind of simple.. Like the guy who had a strong signal from his sat dish (Bird 119) but no picture on his DirecTV (They use 101, not 119) few taps of the proper buttons and .. it worked well). It helps being an "old farm boy" too. I do most of my own repair work on this house.

We started back in 2002 so this is our 11th year.

It has been a great 11 years but we have bought a summer home in CO for the time when we have to get off the road. That time hasn't come yet so we are approaching snowbird status.

Like elections age has consequences.

And, after seeing your coach in the other thread, I wouldn't have gotten anything done either! Would be too busy just staring at its fabulousness!!

I may never be a full timer, but so enjoy reading about it from everyone who is.........just in case we ever change our minds! ;-)

Actually went FT in Nov.14th but stayed in the driveway until yesterday(Dec30th). We had our own "Tag Sale" of all of the stuff. House is on the market with Realtor. We are in Myrtle Beach, SC for the New Years Party! We're calling it the New Life Party!
