Last night in the house!

Well, this is my first post. New to the site. We've finally reached the point of becoming full timers. Tonight is the last night in our home. We got really lucky and sold our home in one day. Kinda pushed us into the rv as we thought might take a few months to sell. We have liquidated almost everything from the house, and only have the things we need for the rv life. Wish us luck

You must be so busy!
Hope it brings happiness across the miles!
How do you guys feel about it? One of my biggest worries is regret, or sadness. I've got kids and fam saying don't do it, my kids having been raised here. It's a hard decision, thinking put house up for high price, and if it happens, away we go! Is that what you did?
Best wishes!

Luckily, our kids were all for us taking off. They gave us best wishes to enjoy the full-timing lifestyle. Personally, as adults and retirees, we wouldn't let our kids dictate our future.

Our grandkids grew up with us full-timing for 16 years. They and their parents visited us often in fabulous places, the grandkids went on trips with us without their parents, and we visited them many, many times. We were there for their special school days - 1st day of school, sports games, graduations. They never lacked for our support in things.

When we recently sold the motorhome the grandkids were sad. They had a ball learning of all the places we've been.

When we bought another small, no upkeep place it wasn't even near the kids and they had no objections. It was in a completely different area of the country that we had never dreamed of living. It's not common nowadays for kids or grandkids to stay in the same location. Ours didn't. Society is very mobile. When we began full-timing we didn't even have a cell phone or computers. We spent many hours in phone booths.

Our house sold a week ago, so we're in the same boat. Everything is moved and we're now full timing. It's scary, freeing, challenging and a whole lot of fun and that's after just a week! Relax, take your time and ENJOY!!! Safe travels!

Congratulations and Welcome Aboard! We moved into our RV exactly one month ago today. The house is empty and under contract -- should close at end of the month. We'll be out there on the road right behind you! Have fun! \ken

Congratulations! I hope you enjoy the lack of obligations and are able to live life to the fullest. I shiver at the thought, but it peaks my interest immediately when I see topics like this.

We just closed the deal after selling our house! We are moving into the fulltime world, too. It is going to be an exciting adventure for all of us, and so nice to know there are so many future friends out there!
