mfredm,

Thanks for the encouraging word. I was beginning to think it was a lost cause.

I was told that with the Zone Pass you could only stay a total of 30 days in TT for free then it would coast $5.00 a night - still not to bad.

Does the Zone Pass allow staying at Encore for free or is the 20% off that I read about?

Since there are no local TTs in RGV, did you stay at the Encore or just pay for long term parking? In a way it seems that would be my best option at this time.

Thanks again - Stay Safe - Richard

In order to stay at an Encore resort for 2 weeks free, you have to buy the trails Collection for 299/year. This is an add on to the normal camping pass at 599/year. This add on works the same for you as a camping pass. 2 weeks in system, 1 week out. An extra zone pass is an additional 54/year, that gives you access to more areas of the country. I have the northeast, and southeast zones, so my yearly costs are $954. Cant use any parks out west unless i buy another zone. If you upgrade your membership to Elite, then you can go TT park to park every 21 days all year round, still only 2 Weeks in 1 out for the encore parks. New elite memberships are around 5K, and used are around 2.5K. this is a one time purchase. You still have to pay members fee every year around 600 plus the trails add on. Example: I get an elite package and i stay in texas. there are 7 TT parks in texas and i can go to each one for 21 days, back to back all summer long. then in the winter i want to go to the RGV. now im in the encore system and im back to 2 weeks in 1 out. This is the fulltimers TT scheme that alot of people use, especially out west where there are lots of TT parks.

i paid monthly at one encore resort this year out of personal reasons. But you have to be careful, to pay the month first. if you are in the resort for 2 weeks free, you cant add another month on top. forget about the 20% discount, these places charge 600-800 a month. they were running a special for january for 425.

mfredm,

Thanks for the update. Thinking for right now that the Southeast Zone pass with TC would work for me as we live in IL and like to go to FL and TX (never been to RGV but really thinking about it for this coming winter).

Drive safe and enjoy - Richard

Thats a good idea. Try it for a year to see if you like it. You'll get your money back in a few stays. Florida is good for this, but its getting hard to book in the winter. The 2 Top TT resorts are Lake Conroe, north of Houston and Orlando TT.

Lake Conroe is very nice. We did 2 weeks there over Christmas 2019 then went to Medina Lakes for New Years and the month of January.
Will be back to Lake Conroe in November 2020.
