Put an extra blanket on the bed. It is the desert, can get cool on clear nights. But no snow to shovel, sunny days, no bugs! Or go further south into Mexico. BTW, there are storms that go over which might bring a couple cooler nights, but really haven't you got an extra blanket?
BTW - cold doesn't occur until you hit 0°F. Before that, it is just bracing - 13 years on Michigan taught me that. Schools only close when it gets to -50° wind chill because you can't have the kids standing out waiting for the buses!😎

In Quartzsite. Last night mid-thirties. But on Wednesday, packing in Minnesota to leave for here, I had to dig the trailer out of a new snowbank.
This is better. Much better.

Wife & I love to inshore fish along the gulf coast. We spend winters on the Steinhatchee River. No red lights, mostly folks from 100 mile radius that come in to fish, the "mall" is a Dollar General, beautiful sunsets and a couple of good restaurants. Yep, the no-see-ems come out for about an hour (30 minutes before & after sunset) but other bugs are not an issue. Unfortunately, it has been "discovered". Real estate prices skyrocketing, a new fancy marina is being built and we ocassionly have to wait for 2-3 cars to pass before crossing an intersection. But we spend 3-5 days each week on the water and all is good!!

When they first started talking about Global Warming, most of us in Minnesota started looking for the sign-up sheet. Then we realized they thought it was a bad thing. Guess it depends on where you live.

Well, here it is Christmas day already. We are two of those poor full time traveling couples who are FL residents and winter each year down here.
Since we find ourselves stuck down here in this horrible crowded place we have our day planned accordingly. About noon when the temp hits 78 degrees we will fire up the Harley and make the hour run over to Vero Beach. We fully expect to have to deal with at least 10 cars and maybe up to 20 as we navigate our way across Rt 60. We will have a quick lunch and beer at Mulligan's on the beach before cruising back to our resort. We will end this horrible day in FL by getting together with several other couples and throwing some cornhole bags.
As anyone considering full time traveling can see FL is not the place to switch to or winter in. It is a horrible lifestyle down here and everyone should stay away IMHO.
Oh, and by the way......Merry Christmas

Hey FLJOE I'd love to find a place down there that isn't going to break the bank you got any good locations that are reasonably priced for 6 month stays. I'd appreciate the info and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all you RV peeps

Look up Rainbow RV Resort, Frostproof FL. It is owned by Sun Communities.
We have been here two winters and it is a really nice friendly place.
When we began on a special promotion that gave us a premium lot (with storage shed) for $287 per month. It is our lot and no one else is ever on it. We can use it 12 months or 1 month. Our initial lease is expiring so in a couple months we suspect our montly with go up to around $390 or so. However the way we look at it is we used to pay over $5,000 for 4 months down in Ft Myers each winter so anything under $5,000 is still a good deal, especially if we can stay on it for as long as we want.
