Seven Months Full Time...
Been a while since I posted, one of the joys of full-timing is watching my data (especially since I work from the road). So far it has been a lot of fun, but it is definitely not without its challenges.
I am not sure what other people have experienced, but in my experience, something will always be broken. Even when you are just sitting in a spot for a month, things seem to just break. Get up one morning, diesel drip on the ground. Slides start making strange noises, and travel days become a source of stress. Nothing will ever break when it is convenient. Going to be parked for two months? Everything will be fine until about five days before leaving. Maybe I am not cut out for this life? I have my doubts some days.
On the other hand, there is so much to see and do across the country, even starting now I don't think I will ever see everything that is on my list. It is great waking up every morning and looking out to mountain views, or ocean views, and having the ability to change it up. Evenings spent watching the sunset with my wife are something we never did in the house, instead we sat on the couch and watched TV, or I went off to play on the computer.
As we prep for the next destination, the dread of the travel day and the anticipation of new adventures starts to build. I am going to miss the friends and the views of where I am, but hope that I can make new friends and find new vistas just down the road.

Feel your pain, but you are living the dream. Don’t give it up. Things breaking is part of the rv life, and trust me, has aged me occasionally but won’t give it up. Safe travels.

Yes, things breaking is part of full timing ... and even part timing! Don't stress about it if you can .... it is still a wonderful life.

Things would break at some point when owning a RV.
Why are travel days bad for you? Don't you like to drive? Are you driving too many miles per day? Can't your wife help with the driving? Do you plan routes through big cities?
How does your wife feel about everything?

We only part time and we fix stuff on the road. Brake caliper, alt, wheel bearing, LP heater and leveling jack hose and a solenoid to name a few. But at home we fixed a roof, water softener, kitchen floor, a leak in the wood furnace and a kitchen faucet to name a few. We try to fix everything ourselves an so far the RV is a bit cheaper.

X2 on fixing most stuff yourself. I would estimate I spend a minimum of 3 or 4 hours a week either fixing stuff or going through "preventive maintenance" lists. It is a never-ending process.

Not sure if this is good or bad, but my wife and I are usually on the same page. I love driving, the Class A drives much more nicely than our old Class C. I am just a chronic overthinker, and I read too many things that can go wrong. On the upside it helps me prepare in case of emergency, on the downside it creates some stress. Every time I have to bring the slides in I cringe a little when I hit the button. Worry about tire blowouts, that kind of thing.
We do drive too many miles per day since I have to work, usually one really long travel day and then a month or two in an area. We did learn though that we are never going to go from east coast to west coast in 6 days again.

We have been full time since June 2019. Things break and need fixed. In October 2020 we had the MorRyde IS system installed on our 5th wheel toy-hauler, then left for Arizona.
Six weeks into the trip to Goodyear, the IS System malfunctioned, the bolts fell out of the brake caliber mounting plate, cutting the hydraulic brakes line. No brakes, got stopped, made temp repairs, and got to Goodyear. Had MorRyde repair the system and it has been great ever since.
This year coming down I-95 in SC, our bathroom pocket door fell down, had to be repaired, took me about 2 hours.
Plus, we have had several other items break ATS went bad, repaired a small roof tear, recoated our side patio and rear ramp with Durabak coating, etc....
September 2022, we had a complete solar system installed, so we can boondock now for several days at a time.
