small biz insurance
Like many of you full-timers, we are small business owners. Some of you no doubt carry some form of small-business or liability insurance.
What brand of insurance are you using? Do you like it? Do you hate it?
I'm leaning towards USAA because we do some of our banking with them as well as our car and RV insurance. But that doesn't mean they are the best choice for us.
Any opinions, notions, rants and anecdotes are welcome.

The Hartford seems to always have the best rates. No auto coverage with them. I've used Allstate Commercial (underwritten by Progressive I believe).

I owned a computer store for 10 years and the ONLY company that would insure it was Farmer's Insurance.
I have no idea why the other companies wouldn't cover computer stores.
This was in California.
I suggest you call around to a few insurance companies and talk to them.
What kind of business is it?

Photography mostly. On our taxes we are in "media production, " which is both vague and specific. What I have to worry about in equipment inventory and location liability.

My son-in-law has a photography business in California, I'll ask him about his insurance.
He just takes pictures. Is that what you do?
Do you have a business license in any location?

I have s handyman business. I am insured thru Next Insurance. Their rates and good and reasonable. They are online

Might be interesting to call an insurance broker in Texas and get their opinion.

I've been in biz about 50 years and still working...
I've used several companies in all these years and my independent insurance agency put me with a company that I'm very pleased with. Their rates were less than other companies when I started with them, and I still don't mind paying the monthly bill.
They have a search page to link to your nearest independent agent. Now, if you find your local agent has a company with lower rates then you might find a better deal.

I had a couple of computer stores in other states before I retired in '17. I always used The Hartford. No Cali must have been a state thing.
