Snowbird Possibilities

We are thinking of doing the snowbird migration from southern Ontario Canada to southern Arizona. We've never done it before and would like to try it at least once. Are we too late for this winter? We would leave the end of November 2022 and come back mid March 2023.

No... you're not too late depending where you want to go.... boondocking or RV parks? You'll just have to start calling around for places to stay. Boondocking there is always space. Arizona has some very nice state parks, also. Do you want to stay in one spot or move around? Here are some campground review site... just plug in a town you want to get information:

We do the southwestern ON migration to Tucson each winter and I would think you should still be able to find places with availability. What type of place are you looking for (large resort with all sorts of activities and amenities) or something small with limited amenities? Where are you targeting in Arizona?

Thanks for your replies. We were thinking about the Tucson area and possibly moving on to Texas, but we’ve decided to delay it for one year. Another grandkid arriving in March and a serious look at negative investment returns has changed our mind. The up-side is that I will have time over the winter to do a couple of updates to the RV and the trip next year can be longer, so less snow and cold at home!

You need to stop looking at those funds for at least a year, for your mental health. (But, yeah, poor time to sell some off.)

I would think spending the winter down south should save you money…you only have to keep your home in the frigid north barely above freezing saving money
