We ended up purchasing the TT Elite Basic this month. A few things made us change our mind:
  • We attended the Xscapers Bash, and several people talked about how well it works for them as full-timers
  • We installed a large solar setup, with energy storage and load sharing, and now can comfortably use 30A service with our 50A rig
  • Related to the above, our camping style has changed where it makes sense to have a 2-3 week stays at parks (as opposed to a month, like we wanted before)
  • We found that we're going to spend a lot more time on the West Coast than originally intended
We like rustic campgrounds and while the occasional "resort" is nice, those aren't a big deal to us. We had no problems booking Verde Valley or Palm Springs in the near future, and will start using the system next month.

If you are on the west coast a lot, TT is almost a no brained. We added the Trails collection, so now can stay in a lot of Encore parks as well.

What kind of promotion discounts did they give you off the standard zone pass price?

You can usually get a Camping Pass with one zone for around $500, maybe a little more now. For instance, you can get the Camping Pass for $599 but you get a second zone for free. Sometimes they offer 20% off or $100 off. If you call and ask, they'll usually give you the best discount they can, even if it's not offered currently.

You can add the Trails Collection for $299, up from $214. That gives you access to 100+ Encore parks. There are a limited number of sites dedicated to the Trails Collection program but other than here in Florida near Disney World, getting reservations hasn't been a problem.

Some people are complaining about the Trails Collection price increase but to be honest, you can easily spend $300 a week for an RV park. But for $300 you can spend two weeks in an Encore park, spend a week out of the system and do it all over again all year. Several people have said it above...no brainer!

we have an elite connections membership and, as fulltimers, we love it. 3 weeks park to park, 2 weeks encore park to park, tons of parks east, west, and south, and after your initial buy in, it's only $700 a year. Just weigh up the cost... based on $60 a night, our upfront cost was covered in less than 5 months, and our yearly cost is covered in just 12 nights.
as has already been stated, you have to have the right expectations.
