Most folks that won't have anything but a residential fridge will also have a washer and dryer

Just makes life simpler and in the long run saves money while being safer at the same time

I'm not sure why simpler, saving money and being safer are examples of the world changing the wrong way. Residential fridges and washer/dryers may not conform to someone else's definition of what constitutes RVing, but that doesn't make them wrong.

Having on board conveniently located laundry is certainly safer any way you look at it

The Splendide stacked washer and the vented dryer is a great addition for us. We love our residential refer. Wouldn't get the dishwasher next time.

By all means buy and don’t look back. We have been full timers for 10 years. Laundromats and Laundry facilities in RV Parks are not always a good thing to go to especially now with Covid, Social Distancing as well as the thought of all the horrible things going on in the country today. We started with a Spendid combo but have since installed a Samsung Washe and Samsung dryer. Two of the best purchases we could have made.

An easy question to answer which would be yes. Traveling many campgrounds offer onsite laundromats which are ok unless someone leaves too much bleach, or chewing gum, dye and so on. Going into town is a crap shoot as to quality and safety. We hosted at a park with one washer and dryer, free, and located in a dark, remote area in the park. The vented, combo, Splendide is perfect. DW has a way to do the laundry in which my pants come out creased which just tickles my military retired self to the bones.

Splendide vented combo. Does small loads and dries them in one shot. Love the thing. Plus, you don't have to carry as many clothes and towels around and it doesn't take much soap. You have to be careful about getting things in the laundry (like change, plastic wrappers and bread ties etc) that can clog the pump, but once I figured out where the pump inlet screen is (front-bottom-right) that's just more of an annoyance now even though it rarely happens.

We’re not full timers, only half timers. Our first extended trip to FL 4 years ago we decided spending over a half a day each week doing our laundry in a laundromat or campground laundry was more than we liked, so upon our return home we started looking for a unit that was equipped with a washer/dryer or set up for them and we found one and have never regretted it. A word of advise don’t buy the combo unit it is very slow. We have the separate units, with those you can be washing a load and drying another, it saves a lot of time. Good luck.

I also am in the camp of having my own washer/dryer. Hate using laundromats so no question here. We do sheets (flannel) in our machine and it handles washing them very well. I do dry them each separately with a dry bath towel thrown in to speed the process up.

Indispensable? No, but very convenient. In previous RV didn’t have room so used laundromats. Great if at the RV Park, but less so when you had to drive. Wouldn’t want to have an RV without one now. Still have to use laundromats for big items like comforter. Also I don’t have to keep a supply of quarters handy.

In 10 years of fulltiming, we have always used laundromats, about every 2 weeks. On board machines means you need a bigger rv & use lots more water. If you want to do a lot of boondocking, you probably wouldn't want a washer/dryer. A 2 hour laundromat session every 2 weeks is not an inconvenience. If we're long term boondocking, we just time the laundry with a grocery trip. Wife does the laundry while I do the shopping.

After five years full-time, we couldn't be happier with our Splendide Combo Unit. We toss a small load in once a day. Set it and forget it. Occassionally, we need to do a second load (white socks, towels or bed sheets once a week), but for the most part, laundry 'day' has transitioned to just another daily personal hygene chore - like brusshing teeth, or adding deoderant. We've even done a few loads while traveling to the next destination. If you run the generator to power the AC Units, no reason you can't run the Splendide while running down the road. Our advice: Choose the vented vs non-vented combo.

With all due respect, the pacing aspect of doing a load of laundry is drying the clothes. This is true regardless of whether or not its a combo or a stackable. I don't see how having two appliances allows you to dry clothes any faster than having one. The final load of dry clothes is going to come out of the dryer at exactly the same time either way. This fallacious claim is repeated over and over again in these forums.

As for the speed of drying clothes, you need to understand that any dryer operating on 120V and a 20A circuit will take three times longer to dry a load of clothes than would a residential dryer operating on 240V and 30A. This is true regardless of whether this is a combo or a stacked pair. Anyone who claims that his 120V dryer is just as fast as the one he has at home is misinformed--you can't argue with physics.
