We did in Florida years back, may have changed now..........all the other state weigh points just wave you through if you exit and some weigh masters get down right mad

Yes if you are using it as a commerical vehicle, otherwise no. Seen many rv delivery folks going to weight stations, but then again they usually have a sign on side xxx delivery service or something of that nature.

I would check State DMV rules.

I would be safe and check the states DMV rules for the states I intend on traveling in.

I drive motorcoaches and school buses. In South Dakota for example, a school bus must stop. Only state I have driven in that required school buses to weigh.

I just drive by. I figure if they want me to stop they will probably tell me.

Some states have exceptions for RV's. Some don't. Rule of thumb probably would be closer to this:

We do the same thing.

I don't stop but I do turn on my cloaking device when near a weigh station, just in case. (-:

I have stopped when I wanted my rig weighed, but only if it was not lined up with trucks, do not want to make delays for truckers. 99.999% of the time I roll on by. Have never been stopped for passing a weigh station in my RV.

Buit if you look at this site below, it would imply that in some jurisdictions, it might be required for some RV,s to stop.

Unless posted on the signs at the entrance to the weigh station, RVs in personal use (i.e., not being commercially transported or used for commercial purposes) are not requred to stop.

The folks that say no are right for many/almost all, but not all states.
A number of people have posted that RVs are required to stop in MD.

We have traveled in most of the states in the continental US (not MD though) and have not stopped in any of them or seen signs saying all non commercial vehicles over some weight limit must stop.

If the AAA/CAA site link I provided above has correct info, there are more jurisdictions than just MD that by law, check the wt on RV's. Now seeing them actually doing this it is another matter.

Just check the list.
