How Many iRV2 Fulltimers?

Hi Jim:

Hope you're all settled up in Rapid. We're down here in Boerne, TX till Monday (4/26) then headin up 281, I-35 and 81 straight North to family wedding in Mitchell. Looking forward to gettin together with ya in August. We'll be at "da ranch" (Hart Ranch).

Anyway, we were wondering how many iRV2 Fulltimers there might be? We were attending an Escapees Fulltimer Rally here in Boerne on April 13, 14, & 15th and had a pretty good time. Got to thinking it'd be nice pullin an iRV2 Fulltime Group together sometime.....maybe up in Rapid City area....ya think??

Well, have a good summer and we'll see ya in August hopefully.

Steve & Lynette

JIMMY: Good to hear from you and as long as you are in Kerrville, take a ride out to Bandara and Medina. Small towns but much going on all the time. Don't forget Luchenbach (sp) on a weekend is best time to go.

Will be here in Rapid for the next few months so keep in touch.

Guess the folks don't travel as much as they used to. I don't have time to slow down, to many places to see and go.

Having spent an enjoyable summer in Rapid City, it is now time to head south where it will be warmer. Will leave RC 10/20 heading for Parker, AZ by way of Cheyenne, Salt Lake City and Las Vegas arriving at Parker Nov 1.

Got the truck and trailer washed and new tires on the trailer so we can not worry about the go-arounds for awhile.

We are in CO now and will head for North TX in about three weeks. Be there for a week or so then head for Bouse AZ. We will wave at you in Parker when we go by.

We started fulltiming the end of July. Left Las Vegas and went through AZ, NM, CO, stayed in NE for 5 weeks, left and went through IA, MO, IL, IN, OH, PA, MD, stayed in WV for 4 weeks, left and went through KY, TN, AR, TX, NM, AZ and now in Las Vegas for 10 days, then back to Cave Creek, AZ for the winter. Having the time of our lives.

For the next few weeks, we are at the Emerald Cove RV resort, part of the CRA park system, just north of Parker, AZ on the CA side of the river.

Left Emerald Cove 3/24 and beautiful weather to come to San Luis Obispo, CA to find rain, more rain and miserable temps. Be here for a few days visiting with kids and grandkids and wait for the roads to be clear over the Sierra's.

Figure to be back in Rapid City about 4/10 to open the park on the 15th

HI, we are new to this lifestyle (fulltiming).

We are two Canadians (Saskatchewanians), over 65, and have been on the road since May 13th of 2010 with a Flagstaff 27BHSS pulled by a 2001 Chevy Express Van. WE travelled in northern Saskatchewan and Alberta, Canada, during May, June and July last year and then in August went to BC(British Columbia) for a family gettogether. Left there, travelled through Alberta to Saskatchewan and our homebase in what is now our son's yard. ON August 15th we started the "Big Adventure" and travelled East to Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada. Back to Ontario, visited with brother there, then down the I81 through NY; PA; WV and VA and then over to TN where we attended the Grand Ole Opry and did a dinner cruise on the General Jackson (unforgettable). We then went over to Chattanooga. I would highly recomment Chattanooga and especially "Rock City." Well worth the effort to see Rock City at least once in your lifetime. If not more. Christmas in Chattanooga would be amazing.

From TN we travelled through Georgia on (I believe) the 85 rather than the 75. We travelled the most direct routh through Georgia to Mexico Beach in Florida. Near Panama City. Winter was catching up to us. Awesome beaches there. Stayed for almost a month at The Rustic Sands Campground & Resort within walking distance of the beaches and the Town of Mexico Beach. Great people, nice Park at Rustic Sands. Would return in a second. Spent another month in Florida, near Tampa and Clearwater Beach at West Bay Oaks Campground in Largo FL. Great Passport America Campground. Highly recommend it and the location and the owner/manager.

From there we travelled down the Gulf Coast right to the Everglades and the Keys. On the Keys we stayed at a Passport America Campground at Marathon(Jolly Roger). Absolutely heavenly Park and affordable under Passport America rates. They allowed us to stay for 5 days only at PA rates. We could never have afforded the full price of $75 to $85/night. Then from the Keys travelled up through Florida's interior skipping the busy tourist traps of Miami and Orlando. From Florida we travelled WEST through the very bottom of Alabama; Mississippi; and New Orleans in Lousiana. New Orleans, a must see, and we did a "narrated bike tour" which was awesome. "The Esplanade Avenue of the Creoles Tour" with Big Easy Bike Tours was our choice but there are others. The guide we had was very knowledgeable and kept us entertained with stories of the history of NOLA. You can rent or bring your own bike. We stayed in LA for more than two weeks because of weather in Texas and then, when we finally did get to drive thorugh TX, we booted it right across to Tombstone, AZ. Bit nervous about running into snow in TX. By this time we were thinking we were running out of time ( our limit of 180 days in the US looming) so we stayed in Tombstone(like the improvements to Tombstone) for a few days, then Phoenix and then off to the WEST Coast. Stayed in Quartzite for several days. Interesting place. Must go back. Travelled up the West Coast of California, Oregon and Washington in the rain(and more rain) and crossed into Canada on March 29th, 2011. Sitting here in British Columbia near Vancouver BC Canada(in the rain) and quite certain that on the WEST Coast it is just one big endless rainstorm. Not at all sure that we haven't been hoodwinked about the beautiful Spring weather in BC? Bring it on folks.

However, regardless of the weather, we haven't regretted one moment of this "Big Adventure" and are happily sitting in our Camper this morning drinking coffee and playing on the Computers listening to it rain. Beats bricks and mortar and staying in one location for the rest of our retirement years. Fulltiming is the ONLY way to go.

One of these days, after the snow melts, we will return to Saskatchewan and plan where we go next. God willing. Probably spend the summer months visiting with our children in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Then it will be off again. Would not give up this lifestyle without a real fight. It's been an absolutely awesome Adventure. Can't wait for more.

Nice to meet you all and maybe someday "on the road."

Still hanging out in the Rockport/Fulton, TX area. No plans to move on as yet. We never make plans, just take it one day at a time.

Gary & Sharon (Roadhawgs):

G'morning from Tampa/St. Pete. If we look West from the beach here, across the Gulf, we can...almost...see Moon Doggies and Charlotte Plumbers in Fulton.....

Next winter we're kinda thinking we'll stay in the Rockport/Fulton Bch. area. Haven't spent a full winter there yet, but Arizona was too cold, and, well, Florida just ain't our cup of tea, though our son and his family live here....so...gotta visit.

Anyway, although we've always stayed up in the BayView park (S. end of Copono Bay Bride), since we are Western Horizons (WHR) members, WHR has sold that park and although we could still use it under the sale agreement, we were kinda looking for another park in the area.

Where are you guys staying? Ya got any suggestions?? (45 ft. mh w. Honda toad).

Steve & Lynette
