Wood stove in the RV? Who will insure it?
Well I know that I can get it installed... there are plenty of places that make units for the job... BUT My insurance company seems to say NO! So if you RV full time and run a wood stove, WHO do you use for insurance?
I am NOT worried about fires, I know how a stove works, been doing this for ages... any ideas please?

I am not sure if anyone will insure it. But I for one would not put a "live fire" inside my rig. Fireplace or not.

How and where will you mount the chimney?

Insurance company for my current S&B was charging a $$ premium for a wood stove that I never used . Tore the sucker out when the roofer said it needed a new chimney .
I used to use 7 cord of firewood a season at my previous house , so I too know how a wood stove works and would never consider one in an RV.

Most RVs are equipped with propane which can run anything from a stove, oven, and/or a furnace. Manufacturers use both rubber lines and metal flex lines to make the runs for feeds.
I just found a small hole in one of my lines and fixed it yesterday, and my RV is a 2021. My point here is installing a real wood fireplace in an RV would be like smoking while working in a fireworks factory!
The only thing I ask if you go ahead with your project is please put some type of warning placard on the outside of your rig. If we are ever in the same campground I want to make sure I'm not parked anywhere near your site.

Yes please. I get nervous with a fire in the fire pit with all the canvas and other flammables in an RV. I've seen what a failed LP fridge can do. Can't imagine a wood burning device in an RV.

Reminds me of a site we were recently assigned out west. It was last month just outside of Cody WY. I pulled around after checking in and once in the site I found that the neighbors fire pit was less than 3 feet from the front of my rig.
I drove right back around to the office and insisted on another site. Crazy.

My question, is this going to be full time sitting in one spot or full time traveling down the road. A fireplace is a heavy piece of equipment, plus the wood to burn in it.
I have seen some schoolies that have the small fireplace and with those drafty single pane windows it probably works real good. With a RV that is a little bit more insulated and draft protected i would worry about oxygen depletion or smoke back filling the rv due inadequate ventilation.
